Questions? We have answers!
Q: I've never taken a class before-can I still come?
A: Yes! All levels are welcomed and encouraged. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn. (comfy clothes and a yoga mat are helpful too.). We also have beginners series and workshop options throughout the year. You can find those on our Workshop Page.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Anything you feel comfortable in! Aim for clothing you can move in and don’t mind getting a little sweaty. Socks are optional and no shoes required.
Q: What should I bring to my first class?
A: Most importantly – an openness to learn! In terms of supplies, you really only need yourself and a yoga mat. You may also consider a water bottle and a small towel. The studio has extra mats if you forget or are new to yoga, we also have blocks, blankets and straps.
Q: I’ve never done a group class before, will everyone be looking at me?
A: No! Prairie Soul strives to create an environment where all levels can feel comfortable. We were all beginners once and your fellow students are there to encourage you and provide support. Once you begin, you’ll discover as you develop your practice that the rest of the room will fade away and your focus will be inward.
Q: How do I get signed up for classes?
A: Our class schedule can be found here. We have options to fit every student! The easiest way to see schedule, pricing options and special events is to download the Prairie Soul app!
Q: Where is your studio located?
A: Prairie Soul Studio is located at 986 22nd Ave S, Suite B, on the back side of the University Mall, behind JCPenney/Maurice's/Karl's (just drive around the back and look for our sign above the door!). We may also hold workshops and special events at our shared studio space in Downtown Brookings at 308 6th Street in the 308 Collective Space (across from Cinema 8 and west of Wells Fargo, our door faces north). This will be noted on the event information and confirmation.
